Itasca Baseball wins big in MCAC match up

Itasca Community College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College squared off on the diamond on March 8th, taking advantage of the favorable climite of Tucson, Arizona to get in an early-season MCAC contest. 

ICC leveraged solid pitching and a 5-run bottom of the 6th inning to post a 13-1 victory on the day.  Tanner Shepard led the Vikings at the plate, going 3-of-4 and raising his season batting average to .455.   On the mound, Tyler Peterson and Austin Mesenbrink combined for a 4-hit outing, with Peterson going the first 6 innings and Mesenbrink coming on in relief to shut the door on the Rams.

Anoka will look to get back on track when they take on Presentation College JV on Thursday,  March 9th.  Itasca has a double-header scheduled against MCAC foe Riverland on Friday, March 10th. For full MCAC baseball standings, please visit:
