Riverland infielder, Josh Molina and Rochester CTC pitcher Jace Lang have earned MCAC Southern Division Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively, for the week of April 2-April 9th.
Molina, who currently leads NJCAA Division III baseball in batting average at .548, helped lead Riverland to a four-win week, sweeping double headers over Central Lakes College and the junior varsity team at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Riverland defeated CLC 27-2 and 9-2 in MCAC action, and earned 3-0 and 6-5 wins over the Cardinals.
Molina went 8-for-15 at the plate, picking up four RBI's in the two MCAC games at Central Lakes. To add to his production at the plate, Molina also pitched 4.1 innings against CLC in their 9-2 win, striking out eight Raiders. He also scored four runs himself against Central Lakes.
Jace Lang, a freshman at Rochester CTC from Cedar Falls, Iowa, hurled a 1-hit gem against Iowa Central on Saturday, April 8th. Over seven innings pitched, Lang struck out five batters, conceded no runs and was tagged only for a single base hit and one walk on the day. By the end of the weekend, RCTC raised it's record to 12-12 on the season.
