The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports' weekly awards for the week of November 1 - 6.
Brooke Meyer, Minnesota North College - Itasca forward, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. In threee games and 102 minutes of early season action, Meyer scored 28 points and grabbed 27 rebounds. Minnesota North College - Vermilion forward, Sammy Russ, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award after scoring 35 points and rebounding 17 balls in his team's two games during the week.
Minnesota West Community & Technical College shooting guard, Tia Murray, is the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week honoree. Murray had 29 points and 19 rebounds with 5 blocks in 42 minutes on the court. Jourdan Weddle, Riverland Community College guard, had 30 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes of action to earn the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award.
