MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of November 6-13

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports weekly awards for the week of November 6 - 13.

Tiyana Schwinghammer, guard for Northland Community & Technical College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week.  Schwinghammer went 13 for 29 from the field and scored 35 points, while grabbing 22 rebounds and seven steals to help the Pioneers pick up an early season win over St. Cloud Technical & Community College. Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range forward, Aron Whiteside, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Whiteside scored 42 points in his two games, shooting 57.7% from 3-point range, and grabbing 9 rebounds and 5 steals.  

Anoka-Ramsey Community College power forward, Alani Pettis, has been named the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Pettis went 14 for 21 from the field, totaling 34 points, and grabbing 20 rebounds and 13 steals. The #5 Golden Rams are off to a 3-0 start.  There were no nominations for the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award.
