MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 24-30

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 24-30.

Minnesota West Community and Technical College right-handed pitcher Tucker Brandner has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Brandner went 1-0 this week in his one start. He scattered two hits over six innings and did not give up an earned run in the outing. Brandner struck out eight and walked two batters in the 13-1 victory. 

Century College utility player Seth Nelson earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Nelson was 11 for 25 from the plate, hitting .440 on the week. He hit three doubles and four home runs, driving in 11 runs and scoring seven. Nelson also stole two bases and walked twice. 

Alexandria Technical and Community College left-handed pitcher Jalen Vorpahl earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his five-innings on the mound, Vorpahl gave up only one earned run and two hits in the win. He struck out eight and walked two in his one outing for the week. 

Alexandria Technical and Community College utility player Connor Davis earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Davis hit .667, going six for nine at the plate. He hit two doubles and drove in three runs while scoring two. Davis walked three times and stole three bases in the Legends' three-game sweep of NJCAA DII opponent Dawson Community College. 

Minnesota North College - Rainy River right-handed pitcher Johnny Lopez earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one start, Lopez threw seven innings of four-hit ball. He did not give up a run in the Voyageurs' 14-0 win. Lopez struck out eight and did not walk a batter in his one appearance during the week.  

Minnesota North College - Itasca designated hitter Jaxon Kenning hit .545 with a double, a triple, and two home runs. Kenning went 6 for 11 at the plate, driving in seven runs and scoring six. Kenning also walked twice and stole two bases during the week, earning the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
