The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of March 31 - April 6.
There were no nominations for this week's MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week award.
There were no nominations for this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award.
Kya Alderson, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Pitcher of the Week award for the second straight week. Alderson appeared in two games this week, starting one and throwing relief in the other, winning them both. In 9.2 innings of work, Alderson scattered 11 hits and struck out 14 batters, while walking 4. She gave up four earned runs and, in her one start, pitched a one-run complete game.
Alderson's teammate, Hannah Kazemba, earned this week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. The Minnesota West Community and Technical College shortstop went five for seven at the plate, hitting .714. She had two doubles, two RBI, and scored seven runs. Kazemba walked twice and was hit by two pitches. In four total chances in the field, Kazema had two putouts and two assists.
