MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of October 6-12

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 6-12. 

There were no nominations for the MCAC Women's Soccer weekly awards.

Minnesota West Community and Technical College goalkeeper, Jose Sandoval, earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor after saving nine shots and only giving up two goals in 90 minutes of action in a win over NJCAA DII Dakota County Technical College. Dayvin Tomas, defender for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Tomas played 90 minutes and led a defensive effort that picked up a win for the Bluejays, giving up only two goals. Carlos Castillo, forward for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Castillo scored four goals, all in the second half of the Bluejays' win over Dakota County. He took four shots on goal, scoring on all of them in the 5-2 win.
