MCAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week: Week of October 13-19

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its volleyball athlete of the week awards for the week of October 13-19. 

Lexy Nehring, outside hitter for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, earned the MCAC South Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor. Nehring had an efficient week, compiling 44 kills and only have one error in 115 swings. She averaged 3.38 kills per set, and also had seven service aces with no errors, helping the Cyclones to a 3-1 week. Aleah Wagner, outside hitter for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Defensive Athlete of the Week award. Wagner collected 41 digs in 10 sets played, and also had two blocks, helping the Lady Jays to three more wins. She also had three service aces during the week.

Central Lakes College outside hitter, Megan Matarelli, earned the MCAC North Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor in back-to-back weeks. Through seven sets, Matarelli had 34 kills and hit .333 on the week, averaging 4.85 kills per set. She also tallied five total blocks, helping her team pick up two key wins. Janne Ramakers, middle blocker for Minnesota North College-Rainy River, was named the MCAC North Division Defensive Athlete of the Week. Ramakers had a total of 14 blocks on the week, averaging 1.55 blocks per set. She also had 17 kills, lifting the Voyageurs to a 2-1 week.
