The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of December 15-21.
Northland Community and Technical College guard Kenzie Dahl earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award for the second straight week. In 39 minutes of court time, Dahl made 11 of 22 shots from the field and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to score 27 points for the Pioneers. She had nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in the close 68-64 loss to NJCAA DI opponent, NDSCS.
There were no nominations for the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award.
Anoka Ramsey Community College center Mariam Alowonle earned the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Alowonle made 15 of 20 shots from the field, shooting 75%, and scoring 31 points in 29 minutes of action. She had 14 rebounds, five steals, two blocks, and an assist in the Golden Rams' dominating 81-63 win over the #10-ranked team in the nation, Joliet Junior College.
Riverland Community College guard Camden Fearon earned this week's MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Playing 63 minutes, Fearon hit 16 of 26 shots from the field and went five for eight from behind the three-point arc to score 39 points. He also had four rebounds, three assists, and two steals, helping the Blue Devils earn two more wins. Fearon shot 61.5% from the field and 62.5% from the three-point line.
There were no nominations this week for the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.
