MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 23-29

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 23-29.

Brayden Peterson, a left-handed pitcher for Rochester Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one start, Peterson threw a two-hit shutout to pick up the 1-0 win against Minnesota North College - Itasca. He pitched 7 innings and struck out 8 batters while walking only one. Peterson had a 69% strike percentage and helped the Yellowjackets outscore their opponents 31-1 during the week. 

Lawson Ness, outfielder for Century College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor. Going 9 for 15 from the plate and hitting .600 on the week, Ness drove in eight runs and scored 10. He hit a double and 3 home runs while walking once. Ness also stole 2 bases, helping his Wood Ducks team pick up three wins this week. 

Central Lakes College right-handed pitcher Nate Solinger earned this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one starting appearance on the mound, Solinger threw 6 complete innings, giving up no earned runs and 3 unearned runs. He surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4 batters. Solinger also went 4 for 10 at the plate, with a triple, and scored 4 times.

Collin Tollefson, left fielder for Anoka Ramsey Community College, was named this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honoree. In four games played, Tollefson had 10 hits in 13 at-bats, hitting .769. He hit 4 home runs and drove in 13 runs, while scoring 9 runs. Tollefson also walked once and stole 3 bases, helping the Golden Rams pick up 3 more wins this week. 

Max Bahr, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Mesab Range, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Starting once and throwing a complete game 3-hit shutout against Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Bahr tallied 10 strikeouts while walking only 1 batter. He held M State to a .136 batting average and retired the last 5 batters in a row. Bahr also hit .429 with a double and 2 RBI this week. 

Will Olson, shortstop for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, earned the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Olson went five for seven at the plate, hitting .714 on the week. He drove in one run and scored three, while walking once. Olson hit two triples and stole a base, helping the Norse pick up two wins during the week.
