NJCAA Region 13 Softball held its final-four tournament on Friday and Saturday to award one team an automatic qualifying spot in the 2026 NJCAA DIII Softball World Series and allow one team to advance to the North Plains B District Series for the opportunity to also claim a spot in the World Series.
After a dominant regular season, North Dakota State College of Science captured the Region 13 title after defeating St. Cloud Technical and Community College 9-4 in the championship game. This is the sixth straight Region 13 championship title for the Wildcats. NDSCS also faced SCTCC in the semifinals and earned a 3-2 win after defeating Central Lakes College 8-0 in their first game of the double-elimination tournament. The Wildcats will now play at the NJCAA DIII World Series in Dewitt, NY, on May 20-23.
St. Cloud Technical and Community College, by making the Region 13 Tournament championship game, earned another opportunity to qualify for the NJCAA World Series. The Cyclones defeated Minnesota North College-Itasca 2-1 and Central Lakes College 9-6 before losing to NDSCS in the championship game. The runners-up in the Region 13 tournament will now play Joliet Junior College on Friday, May 8th, at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. If a Game 3 is needed in the best-of-three series, the game will be played at Noon on Saturday, May 9th. The winner of the series wins the NJCAA North Plains B District title and will advance to the NJCAA DIII World Series.
