The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of November 10-16.
Northland Community and Technical College guard Jade Reese earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Reese shot 54% from the field, scoring 38 points through two games and 71 minutes of playing time. She also grabbed 20 rebounds and eight steals, while assisting on six baskets and blocking eight shots. Reese averaged a double-double (points-rebounds), helping her team to wins over #2 Minnesota West and Ridgewater College.
Central Lakes College guard Wylee Dauenbaugh earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Dauenbaugh scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in 50 minutes of action to help the Raiders go 1-1 this week. He had three assists, four steals, and two blocks, and he averaged 16.5 points and seven rebounds per game. Dauenbaugh also shot 55% from the field and 71% from the free-throw line.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College center Mariam Alowonle earned the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award for the second straight week. In 62 minutes of playing time, Alowonle scored 67 points, averaging 33.5 points per game, and she shot 70% from the field and 83% from the free-throw line. Alowonle secured 36 rebounds, had six assists, stole five balls, and blocked seven, helping her team win two more games.
Ridgewater College forward DeAndre Holloway was named the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award winner. Holloway scored 40 points and grabbed 28 rebounds in 55 minutes of action over two games. He added four assists, three steals, and two blocks to his stat sheet and helped the Warriors pick up two more wins. Holloway shot 58% from the field and 90% from the free-throw line, and he averaged 20 points per game.
There were no nominations for the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.
